NK cells in antibody‐mediated rejection – Key effector cells in microvascular graft damage

نویسندگان

چکیده

Antibody-mediated rejection (ABMR) stands as the major limitation to long-term transplant outcome. The immunologic understanding of ABMR continues progress and has identified natural killer (NK) cells key effector promoting coordinating immune attack on graft microvascular endothelium. This review discusses current concepts outlining different ways that allow for NK cell recognition endothelial which includes antibody-dependent well independent processes.

Cells mediating graft rejection in the mouse. I. Lyt-1 cells mediate skin graft rejection

The Ly phenotype of cells mediating skin graft rejection was determined using monoclonal anti-Lyt-1.1 and Lyt-2.1 antibodies in CBA mice that received CBA lymphoid cells from mice sensitized to C57BL/6; i.e., alloantigenic differences arising from the H-2 and non-H-2 loci. It was clear that graft rejection was due wholly to the presence of Lyt-1 cells in the inoculum and that Lyt-123 or Lyt-23 ...

Effector cells in allelic H-2 class I-incompatible skin graft rejection

The cellular mechanisms of skin graft rejection with allelic H-2 class I differences were studied by examining the effect on graft survival of in vivo administration of anti-Lyt-2.2 mAb, anti-L3T4 mAb, or both to recipient mice. The injections of anti-Lyt-2.2 mAb and anti-L3T4 mAb caused selective depletions of Lyt-2+ cells and L3T4+ cells, respectively. Injection of anti-Lyt-2.2 mAb significan...

Graft-infiltrating host dendritic cells play a key role in organ transplant rejection

Successful engraftment of organ transplants has traditionally relied on preventing the activation of recipient (host) T cells. Once T-cell activation has occurred, however, stalling the rejection process becomes increasingly difficult, leading to graft failure. Here we demonstrate that graft-infiltrating, recipient (host) dendritic cells (DCs) play a key role in driving the rejection of transpl...

NK cells contribute to the skin graft rejection promoted by CD4+ T cells activated through the indirect allorecognition pathway.

Rejection of solid organ allografts is promoted by T cells. Recipient T cells can directly recognize intact allo-MHC molecules on donor cells and can also indirectly recognize processed donor-derived allo-peptides presented by recipient antigen-presenting cells in the context of self-MHC molecules. Although CD4(+) T cells primed through the indirect allorecognition pathway alone are sufficient ...
